Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs”. Matthew 19:14
Beloved brothers and sisters,
Our parish is so blessed with many families who bring their children to church. It is a wonderful sign of the life of the parish. Through baptism, children are an important part of the Church community, and we warmly welcome them at all ages and stages.
Dear parents, do not be afraid to bring your children to church. Babies and children can be noisy, fussy, wiggly, and cry – but this is the way they were created by God. Do not be too hard on yourself. We know you are doing your best to teach your children how to pray and behave during Mass. We acknowledge your tremendous effort to make God a priority in your family and in your children’s hearts. Thank you for bringing your children!
For those of us who do not have little children, please show your support of these parents who are bringing their children to Mass and teaching them about God.
Smile with your kindness.
Say encouraging words with your understanding/sympathy.
Pray for them with your trusting heart.
Love them as you do your own children and grandchildren.
Children might make our church noisier, but that is the sound of our littlest Catholics growing in their faith. May we not forget that we are called to worship God in charity.
May our Lord Jesus bless your loving and welcoming hearts!
